Avoiding the crowds at a public gym by setting up a custom and private space to work out at home is a dream for many homeowners. With studies proving that exercising regularly is of significant benefit to our mental health as well as our physical wellbeing, if you’re going to commit to work out at home, you’ll want to thoughtfully design and build an attractive home gym that will be used and appreciated for years to come. A custom gym will provide many years of privacy, safety, and convenient functionality with strong materials and a luxe look.
Most home gyms are located in the basement as part of a larger multi-purpose area. You can create a more beautiful and functional workout space with glass walls and mirrors. Plus the glass walls also cut down on noise transference space for a more motivating workout.
We can install mirrors floor to ceiling, and wall to wall. We can help our clients transform their wish list into a design that will work for their space. Whatever your project, we will work with your ideas and draft designs for your space. Mirrors and glass are available in a variety of sizes and price points; and there are options for most budgets.
As the go-to glass fabrication company in Bergen County, we help homeowners create workout rooms that are as polished and beautiful as they are functional with glass walls and wall mirrors, like this home gym in Demarest.
From the Clients’ Ideas to Our Design
The homeowners contacted us about their ideas of making their workout space feel more open with a wall of mirrors. They presented their ideas, and we were delighted to work with them on design and feasibility.
The Mirrors
The end result was a plan to cover an entire wall with mirrors, which immediately brightened the room. Additionally, it gave them the confidence that they were exercising safely by strategically positioning mirrors across from equipment, allowing them to check their form. As a bonus, the mirrors provided motivation as they clearly saw their progress.
Our process is carefully planned and flawlessly executed. We created a wall of mirrors by installing 3 equal sections that would uplevel the feel of the room beyond the basic home gym. We measured carefully to ensure the panels could easily fit down the stairs and through doorways to get into the basement. Our 3 mirror panels expand from baseboard to ceiling, and wall to wall, while accommodating an outlet.
The Glass Walls
Loving their custom home gym, the homeowners later requested that we return to install two glass entrance partitions. They had their eye on 3 goals: uplevel the design of their gym, further define that area of the basement, and have the walls function as noise barriers.
The panels we installed were 1/2” of glass, using a panel – door – panel layout. The doors open with hydraulic patch door pivots in a matte black finish.
